Hey all,

A group of 20 or so are looknig to go on a week long MTB trip over our
spring break. For the past 8 years we've gone to Sedona, AZ, but due
to flood dammage to the group camping we use, we are looking at
alternative destinations.

Ideally the destination would have:
1. a centrally located campsite so that we can ride to the trails each
day.
2. nearby town for supplies (food)
3. Onsite water at campsite
4. Warm and dry climate in late March

I'd love to hear any ideas that you can send my way.
Thanks in advance,
Jamie

Jamie, Jamie, Jamie,

You're thinking of abandoning Sedona? Sacrilege!

Actually, I've been thinking about this a bit, though I give good odds to
Chavez Crossing being fixed, a back-up plan is always good. I've been
thinking about Moab. A little cooler then Sedona, the one year we spent a
couple days there it froze at night, probably low 60's for a high, but I'd
check some weather websites for the climate info. Some of the higher
altitude trails will still have snow on them, especially after this
winter. The camping is about 1/4 a mile from the Slickrock trail. only
problem is I don't think there is any water available in the Sand Flats
Recreation Area where the camping is and the Slickrock and Porcupine Rim
trails are. But there has to be something that can be worked out in
town, there are a shitload of people who camp and ride there.

Oh, and try posting at MTBR.com, you'll probably get some good feedback
there too. Let me know what's figured out.
