Have an old ProForx fork made prior to Answer production models (I
think Girvin was the original manufacturer). Pulling off the top
caps, they appear to be a spring/polymer combo?? Does anyone know if
replacement spring/polymers are still made? (I know they s*ck for
hardcore mtb; but, I am simply a recreational rider on back logging
roads, skidder trails, etc. I used to ride hard back in the days when
Ned Overand(?) was a newbie....ie I am an "old fart" in the eyes of
you young fellas. But I still enjoy riding, and me and these old
forks have been thru a lot together. I hate to say goodbye to em.
Please help?

I'm not sure if there is any info here that will help you, but just
in case, here's an article that talks about modifying elastomer type forks
(primarily the old Manitus). It talks about replacing at least some of the
urethane elastomers with springs....

I may have elastomers, let me know the stack hight, skewer diameter and your
weight; for springs go here: http://wings-suspension.de/index_e.html . Let
me know if I can be of any help - one old fart to another! Contact me at
***@ak.net (replace the blank with four letters, lower case, for what a
farmer uses to cut furrows in a field).
