hi
i want to get either a kona hoss or a kona scrap,
i am having trouble choosing out of these two. i want the hoss - it
looks good and has hyd. brakes, but everywhere tells me its for
clydesdales, which im not - im only 15. is it still worth getting
above the scrap?

help is cool,

cheers

I don't know much about either bike, but even Kona says that the Hoss is
for Clydesdales...that's what it was designed for. Unless you weigh over
200lbs, it seems like you'd be getting a lot of extra weight you don't
really need with that bike. Also, the standard Hoss has mechanical disks,
not hydraulic. You'd have to get the Hoss deluxe for that.

I have the HOSS DEE-LUX, I like it, but I weigh over 250lbs. It is very
heavy, I have ridden on some technical single track and it handles well, but
go up hill, you don't need the extra weight.

If you are not concerned about the weight of the bike, then get what you
like, but if weight is a concerned then go lighter unless you plan on
bulking up on weight.

I just got a Bianchi S.A.S.S. that is much lighter and I really love that,
and it is a steel frame, but lot less weight then the Kona.
